What to expect 

The initial consultation will include a detailed look at the causes of stress and an in-depth diagnosis with an explanation of the treatments available and discussion as to which will be appropriate. This may last up to 1½ hours.

Subsequent sessions last approximately one hour and on average six sessions should be sufficient to bring about significant improvement and provide you with the skills and knowledge to manage your own stress.

After the first consultation, half-hour sessions for Indian Head Massage or Bach Flower Remedies follow-ups can be booked as and when required.

Barbara Murphy

My background:

I am an Oxford graduate who has had a busy and varied career beginning in financial services and most recently in the non-profit and charity sectors. I am also divorced with two grown-up children. Having had first hand experience of both workplace and domestic stress, I qualified as a therapist to share the benefit of this experience with others by offering an antidote to the increasing pressures of modern life. I am committed to continuing to train to expand my capabilities and offer relevant and up to date stress management techniques.

Qualifications:

I hold diplomas in Holistic Stress Management and Indian Head Massage from the internationally acclaimed Kevala Centre and am a Bach Foundation Registered Practitioner. I also have a diploma in Acupressure and am currently undertaking further studies in Cognitive Therapy. I am fully insured and a Member of the Complementary Medical Association (CMA) whose code of ethics and good practice I follow.
